Halloween T-Shirt

I decorated a t-shirt for Halloween for a little buddy of mine. These are iron on decals that I thought he would have fun with. They glow in the dark and he is only 3. Big deal for three year olds.

Another Craft Show Purchase!

The Wolcott Orchard’s Arts and Craft Show was great this year. I saw so many things that I could have taken home. It was very tempting. Along with the angel, shown in my last post, I also purchased this cute snowman. I haven’t decided if I will hang him on my front door or in my kitchen. He’s made of wood and could be used either place. I bought him from a local vendor, Just Country Crafts, Wooden & Unique Gifts. It’s a husband and wife business and I believe he told me they were located in Davison Michigan. They had lots of fun stuff!

Patio Angel

I cruised through the Wolcott Orchard's Arts and Craft Show this weekend and found this patio angel. She was one of those things that just took my heart. There was no deciding if I would take her home with me I just got out the check book. I had to have her. She is made of treated lumber that is used for decking and her head is a red bowling ball. She has a wreath around her head, a bird on one wing and a lady bug on the other. She is just darling.

The show was very crowded, had lots of really nice things and the weather was beautiful. I treated myself to an elephant ear - not quite on my ww diet. Oh well, only one I've had all season.

This is Waleed in his new bathing suit. He is wearing the suit over his pajamas. The suit has a built in life jacket and the goggles are a trip just on their own. He thought the whole outfit was really cool. (He's three, everything is cool when you are three! LOL) The suit works really well in keeping him a float, giving him a chance to gain some confidence in the water. It also doubles for a cool super hero suit as you can see.

A Class Project Plus

This is a project that I did in one of my 'after hours' classes. The match box type figures can be opened to house a Post It Note pad. I have made several since taking the class. (I will post others in the coming days.) They are a fun project and nice little gifts for friends and family. A few of us from work have taken a couple of classes with a group we heard about through friends and they have really good ideas. They are really great people and it's been lots of fun. They meet each month and I look forward to the gathering.

Cousin Joel's Birthday Card

One of my cousins is the lead singer for a local band, the Blue Hawaiians. I attemp to work some kind of music into the cards I send him. This was for his last birthday. The music note paper was bought at JoAnne's and the stickers are from the 'Suzy' line. I think they are so cute.

Loss of Pet

One of my friends had her dog hit by a car and she had to have him put down. She and I are such animal lovers. I felt so bad for her and her family, I sent them a card letting them know I was thinking of them. The card was made using brown stock from Stampin' Up and the dog prints is a paper I picked up at JoAnne's some time ago. The dogs were made with my Cricuit. Two different breeds and one in two colors, dark and light brown. I haven't used my Cricuit too much but when I do I like the results.

Halloween!

It's almost Haloween and everyone is getting excited about getting those special people a just right card. I was visiting my daughter and she has saved all the cards I have made for her in a binder. I took several pictures of past cards and these are a few of those for Halooween. It has been so long since I made these I haven't any of the information to give just credit to items used.

Newlyweds

Labor Day weekend my cousin Wendi tied the knot with her special man, Tim. They were married under a tent in front of a lovely decorated and lite lattice arch at the home of her parents. The colors of the day were 'pool blue' and Wendi was beautiful. It certainly was her color. Tim, Tammy (maid of honor), Tim's brother (best man), Colton and Jack (Wendi's boys) all added a touch of the blue to their attire. They looked fantastic. It was a small and lovely affair attended by family members from both sides.

The family enjoyed each others company and as usual told funny stories on each other. It was a wonderful day for all as we celebrated the beginning of the happy couples new life together.

I started looking at the cards I have to post and find I have lots of frog themed cards. My daughter favors frogs but I think I need a new topic. I'm running her over with FROGS! Even a frog cake, but he is really cute.

It's been over a month since I have been out here adding any of my creations. My pals at work are starting to give me a hard time calling me a 'slacker'. Ummmmm! Most of the cards I have to post, I have long forgot the stats for stamp, paper and embellishment brands so I am just going to post the pretty pictures. lol Hope this gets me off the 'slacker' list, at least for a while. 'Till next time!

Graduation Celebrations

I made several graduation cards for relatives and friends this year. When creating these cards I try to use the commencement invitation and/or the open house announcement to personalize the card. This gives the graduate a condensed version of the information for their important day all in one place.
I normally give money to new grads so I created a template for a money card that holds a check. This way I don't have to recreate the shape and measurements each time I need this type of card. I think they turn out quite unique and they are fun to make.
For this particular card I used the commencement announcement, the graduates picture and name card and his class motto. The DP is 'Grad Affirmations' by NRN Designs and was double sided. The cap was from Jolees Boutique and the stamp was borrowed from a friend, 'Grad' from Stampendous.
This next card has a John Deere theme. The announcement for the open house was a post card type photo card which had these pictures. If you look closely the grad has a John Deere t-shirt and cap on in each of the pictures. How cleaver of them! So, I stayed with their theme and put together this card. Again it is the money card style and I used the following 'stuff': John Deere Creation Imaginations stickers and DP bought at my favorite Capture A Memory scrapbooking store, the grad cap was a Jolees Boutique, a Karen Foster rub on sentiment and the grad chick was from the Calendar Chicks Collection by Stampendous. The card itself was standard card stock using both yellow and green colors and the front panel was attached with green staples rather than glue.

Friends

This is a project made in a class I took at the 2008 Novi, Michigan Mega Meet. The class was put on by SEI and was called 'Ribbon Techniques - Friends Word Album'. The hour of instruction was fast paced and I had to put on some of the finishing embellishments at home but I love the finished product. The materials were all packaged for us and of course all SEI products. The embellishments included mini coasters, ally's wonderland die-cut tags and tabs and frames, rhinestone brads hippie chicks and assorted ribbons.

My First Challenge

This is my first challenge attempt. It seemed to go quickly because I didn't have to think much. The idea is to follow their instructions, cool beans. The card stock and patterned paper are standard stock from JoAnn's as is the rose pink paper matting surrounding the stamped figure. The stamp used is Partygirlabella from the Stampingbella line and the words are from Stampendous Hey There Cupcake set. I colored in the party girl using Staedtler Karat Aquarell Watercolor Crayons.

A New Project - A Painted Sheet Set

This is a 'finish up' project I started for my daughter, Lindsey, a year or so ago. She was into frogs big time so for her birthday I painted frogs and flowers on a set of pillow cases. She liked them so well she asked to have sheets painted to match. Could I have guessed! LOL Lindsey picked out a set of green sheets several months ago and I finally got them done for her this week. The stamps are some I have had for ages. They are the foam old style type. The paints used were a combination of brands and were purchased from my local JoAnn's. Colors used were Delta soft black, Accent mellow yellow, Country Colors holiday red and Folk Art berry wine and thicket. Something a little different to do.

Another Birthday!

My friend Monique has moved to the state of Washington and left all her crafting buddies behind. We really miss her but are trying to keep in touch. She's coming home for a visit this month and we hope to have lunch with her.
Details for the card: The background paper was plain orange card stock and I stamped and embossed the flowers using one of the Stampin' Up Friendship Blooms stamps. The patterned paper is Posies Glitter Print from the DCWY collection Petite Sunrise Posies. The birthday wish is from Stampendous. The round circle is a plastic embellishment I purchased at last years Mega Meet.

Thinking of You

A 'Thinking of You' note for my Aunt. Years ago Yvonne, her given name, was apparently too difficult for me to pronounce so she became my 'Aunt Von'. She is such a special lady, I love her so. She currently is living with my cousins as the results of a stroke two years ago has left her needing some extra help. I like to send her a card now and then hoping it will brighten her day.

What a Hit - Woody from Toy Story

I made this card just as a ‘Thinking of you’ for a special little fellow named Waleed. He's three and is just getting into Toy Story, Thomas the Train and Nemo type characters. He also gets very excited about chocolate and money! I understand he was very pleased with the card but a little disappointed that the M&Ms were only paper but the pennies were REAL. Hopefully that made up for the faux M&Ms. LOL

The letters for the message were from Making Memories Grass Stains, size 7/16". Woody and his sheriff's badge are from the Disney Toy Story Sticker, Toy Story and Beyond. The papers are JoAnn's general stock with the Spots and Dots Cuttlebug die used on the orange papers.

Birthday Wishes with Lots of Embellishments

This birthday card was for a friend I have known for years. Nancy and I vacationed together a number of times while we both worked for Citizens Bank many years ago. Along with another friend, Judie - who also was a Citizens Bank employee and my room mate at that time, we traveled to lots of fun places that included Miami Beach (Florida) and London (England). One of my favorite memories of our Miami trip was a night we had all gone out and had a class of wine, or two, and Nancy decided to have her own personal toga party. After acquiring appropriate toga attire, her bed sheets, she topped her fashion statement with a lamp shade head piece and then danced until dawn. Oh, to be young and carefree again! We had such great fun. Nancy now lives in a beautiful condo on the shores of Lake Huron. I don't see as much of her as when she was localed in Flint but we keep in contact on a regular basis.
Oops - too many memories, back to the card. The papers are from a DCWV Stack, the Happy Birthday wish banner from Stampendous and the silk flowers from the Prima Marketing collection 'Got Flowers Spring 2'. The metal yellow flower on the ribbon is a slide I purchased from Capture A Memory, one of my favorite scrapbook stores.

A Favorite Stamp

I purchased the Seaside Sketches Stampin' Up stamp set some time ago. It contains this stamp and 4 others. Three that are very similar seaside images with children and the other is the verbiage used here as well. I have been waiting to use this set for something special and decided to use it while creating a birthday card for a close friend. The background is Stampin' Up Old Olive Green with an accent of some paisley and light blue card stock I had on hand. The image was stamped with Color Box Chalk Blue Iris and glittered with a Gelly Roll glitter pen.

Thank You

This was a quick and simple make. Something I'm into. The coloring is really poor as I am still having trouble with my picture taking. The card was actually ivory with the flower being more red than orange but I liked the design so I am posting it anyway.

A Friends Birthday

A lunch buddy, Eileen, had a birthday and I had missed giving her a card the day they celebrated. Eileen attended the Mega Meet with a bunch of us last year and bought lots of neat stuff to start working on a scrapbook for her daughter Avery. Avery is four and they have lots of fun pictures of her already. So far, Eileen hasn't had much time to work on Avery's album. Four year olds, college classes and a full time job keep her real busy.

A Pal's Birthday Card

This was a birthday card for my buddy Sue. She and I have enjoyed each others company for many years, both as friends and co-workers. Now, we have both fallen in love with card making and have regular show and tells sharing our ideas and creations. She is such a sweetie!

Mickey Mouse Birthday Card

My boss is a Disney person. He loves anything to do with Mickey and his friends. His favorite is Pluto. I sent him this card for his birthday, which was April 1st. I've shown both front and inside as I thought the inside was cute also.

A Masculine Birthday Card

This is a birthday card I made for a friends brother. I don't make many mens cards and those I do make are always difficult. I hate to put flowers and bows on men's cards but that is where my true loves focus. This gentlemen, at one time, was a car salesman so I stuck to cars.

Birthday Wishes

This is a birthday card I made for a friend of mine. The paper is from Stampin' Up and came cut as shown. It's a post card structure and does not open. It was quick and easy for a last minute need.

A favorite Bella stamp

I am off work on a temporary leave for a few months. I find I am getting behind in my birthday cards and have been concentrating on that theme. So... Here is another birthday card for my friend Heather. I just love the Bella stamps and used the partygirlabella stamp for this. I added the patterned paper and a few silk flowers attached with brads. I just love the results and so did Heather.

Ooops... He got caught with the cupcake

This is a birthday card for my next door neighbor. She is a sweetie. Faye is a retired lady and loves to do yard work.
